General Information
What?	The Search for Big Mack is a 10 hour map and compass foot-only navigation event. Participants will go out and look for checkpoints in the forest for the allotted time. Solos or teams (any size) are welcome. No GPSes are allowed - only map and compass.
Where?	The event will be held at the Camp Powhatan (Blue Ridge Boyscout Reservation) near Hiwassee, VA.
When?	The event is Saturday, 02 Sept 2023. Check-in will be from 6:30am-8am in the morning. Race start will be around 8am, and you have 10 hours (until 6pm) to return to the finish line.
How Much?	Early registration is $100 per person until June 1st. Regular registration is $110 until July 15th. LATE REGISTRATION: $120 until Aug 28th.
What's Included?	Your entry fee gets you a pre-plotted map, a branded piece of gear, and a nice hot dinner after the event. People who register after August 22nd WILL NOT get any branded gear.
Lodgings?	You can car/tent camp at Camp Powhatan and there are nearby hotels in Newbern, VA on I-81.
Who?	The world's top navigators!

Mandatory Gear	Not too much to carry - just some safety items. fleece/water proof jacket/pants as necessary Cell phone Whistle Space blanket/bag Head lamp Lighter or matches Some first aid supplies (your choice)
